“In connection with the statement of the Governor of Nizhny Novgorod region Shantsev Valery Pavlinovich on early termination of powers, I decree: to accept the resignation of the Governor of Nizhny Novgorod region Shantsev at his own request”, — quotes Putin’s decree, the press service of the Kremlin.

Recall that in June 20017, Shantsev noted 70-summer anniversary, and its powers expire in 2019.

In place Shantsev is temporarily assigned to Gleb Nikitin, the former first Deputy Minister of industry and trade.

Informed sources RBC called it a priority candidate, noting that for him “many ask.”

The resignation Shantsev became already the second for last days previously at his own request resigned as the Governor of the Samara region Nikolay Merkushkin.
