The results of the elections in Germany: who ousted Merkel’s party in the Bundestag

General parliamentary elections ended in Germany. After the polls closed there is an active count of the votes. About the official election results to speak while early, however already now it is clear that the “political wheel” in Germany will remain Angela Merkel and her Bloc of the Christian democratic Union (CDU) and Christian social Union (CSU).

These figures are much lower than in the elections in 2013, but still provide the Chancellor and her party a majority in the Bundestag.

More modest results in the opponent Merkel, Martin Schulz. For the Social democratic party of Germany is forecast to have voted 20-21% of German citizens. At the headquarters of the Schulz failed results have not yet commented,

But at the headquarters of the party “Alternative for Germany” is already celebrating the victory. Ultra received the support of 13.5% of the German voters, and so for the first time in the history of modern German Parliament they are part of it.

Completing the list of the Free democratic party (10-10,5% of the votes), Green (9-9,5% of the votes) and “Left” (9% of votes).

Official election results will be later published on the website of the Federal electoral Committee of Germany, but now the ultra-right, receive congratulations with the victory. So, the leader of French “National front” marine Le Pen has called the result the “Alternative for Germany” a historic.

Commented on the election results, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. According to her, she was quite happy with the performance of his party.

“Alliance of the CDU/CSU in any case be the main force in the new government,” Merkel was quoted by Reuters.

The head of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani in his congratulatory speech addressed to the German Chancellor has expressed confidence that Germany will continue to remain committed to the European idea.

“I congratulate Angela Merkel on the victory in the parliamentary elections… Now we must work together to reform Europe,” Tajani wrote in his microblog on Twitter.
