Exit polls: Merkel wins election in Germany, far-right – third


The results of the exit polls in elections in Germany showed a preliminary result of the vote and the future composition of the Bundestag.

According to these results, published immediately after the polls closed (at 19:00 GMT), the ruling CDU/CSU led by Chancellor Angela Merkel received 33.5% of the votes, the Social democratic party of Germany (SPD) with its main opponent is Martin Schulz — 21%. Third place was taken by a far-right partyAlternative for Germany” – 13%, the Free Democrats got 10%, “Left” and “Green” — 9%.
