Trump has refused to supply Ukraine with Javelin anti-tank systems

Became known some details of closed-door meetings between the presidents of Ukraine and USA, which took place yesterday. Apparently Donald trump has made it clear that Washington will not supply Ukraine lethal weapons, particularly the Javelin. Petro Poroshenko said for it that, say, Ukraine itself produces effective anti-tank systems, and the US is just waiting for electronic warfare.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, in particular, spoke in interview to TV channel Fox Business that his talks on Thursday with us leader Donald trump has been very productive.

President trump said that the US is ready to support Ukraine, including in the sphere of military and technical cooperation”, – said Poroshenko.

This Poroshenko noted that the question of supplies to Ukraine of American lethal weapons, including anti-tank Javelin.

“We don’t get anything from anyone in the world, no lethal weapons. But we have received firm commitments from our partners in the US, we are not talking about the Javelin, we are talking about electronic warfare, to make effective the actions of my armed forces,” – said Poroshenko.

Ukraine itself produces very effective anti-tank missiles,” – added Poroshenko.

It is worth noting that earlier Poroshenko said that the U.S. Senate approved a draft law on the allocation of Ukraine on the security of 500 million dollars and the supply of “lethal weapons of a defensive nature”.
