Trump has called Erdogan a friend

The President of the United States Donald trump at a meeting with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan in new York really spoke warmly about his colleague.

“He became my friend, he gets very high marks for his leadership,” said trump.

The US President added: “We are now closer than ever.”

Erdogan, who arrived in the United States to participate in the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, said in response that he was glad to meet with trump to discuss Turkish-American relations and regional issues.

It is expected that Erdogan will raise the issue of extradition of preacher Fethullah Gulen and the referendum on the independence of Iraqi Kurdistan.
