Sands: the Kremlin has not placed advertising about the election in Facebook

“We don’t know who and how to advertise in Facebook, and never did, and never Russian side was not involved,” the spokesperson said in comments to journalists, reports RIA Novosti.

In turn, the head of the international Committee of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev speculated that Zuckerberg promised to convey data to Congress about political advertising, allegedly funded by Russian companies, just wanted to establish relations with US authorities.

“We know that at the time Facebook was suspected of being too sympathetic to Mrs. Clinton and antipathy to Mr. Trump, who, as we all know, quite vindictive. So let’s see what would be the “evidence,” – said the Senator RT.

Previously, Zuckerberg spoke about cooperation with the US government investigation of the “intervention” of Russia in the presidential election campaign in 2016. The Russians allegedly bought advertising in social networks through fake accounts, thereby convincing the Americans to vote for Donald trump.

The head of Facebook said that the administration of the social network in the future will require individuals placing political advertising, to specify its sponsors. “I don’t want someone used our tools to undermine democracy,” said an IT entrepreneur.
