With such a statement, which is quoted by RIA “Novosti”, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church made after the service in the Dormition Cathedral of Novorossiysk: “If anyone still doubts whether to do all what the Patriarch taught, — leave all doubt! And strictly do what I command! Because I am not of his wisdom saying, and the wisdom of the whole episcopate of the Russian Orthodox Church! Another way for our Church today! If you don’t retire!”

Note that this is Cyril’s statement is contrary to the position of the ROC in relation to the so-called “dogma of infallibility of the Pope” in the Catholic Church it is believed that in the case when the high priest speaks on behalf of the Church, he cannot fail.

Orthodoxy, by contrast, traditionally professed opinion about the necessity of conciliar decision-making.

Further in his speech in Novorossiysk Cyril talked about the social mission of the Church and the service of her priests.

Recall that the archdeacon Andrey Kuraev, who is now in the Church opposition, regularly criticizing the Patriarch for his authoritarian style of Church government in which there is no room for collective decisions.
