Foreign Ministry sees no point in deploying peacekeepers on the border of Russia

Deputy foreign Minister of Russia Gennady Gatilov on Thursday, September 21, responded to the statement of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko voiced at the UN General Assembly, on the mandatory placement of UN peacekeepers on the border of Ukraine with Russia. According to the Russian diplomat, Moscow sees no point in this need, since Russia is not a party Ukrainian domestic armed conflict in the Donbass.

“They (Ukrainian representatives) want the deployment of UN personnel throughout the territory of Ukraine, including the Russian-Ukrainian border. Russia is not a party in this conflict, so there is no point in deploying peacekeepers on the border,” — said Gatilov.
