During a speech at the international conference “Yalta European strategy”, held in Kiev, Poroshenko called himself a “President of peace” and said he was not going to attack anyone.

The Ukrainian leader said that in 2018 the government plans to regain control of Kiev territory of Donbass, and also to introduce a visa-free regime with the EU.

“This is the only strategy for us peacefully to return not only the Donbass, but with a visa-free regime and the Association agreement we will refund and Yalta. In fact, this goal for the next year”, — quotes Poroshenko, the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.

To return to the Crimea, Poroshenko intends to establish a “group of friends of de-occupation” of the Peninsula, to coordinate joint steps and actions. The Ukrainian leader has promised to raise the issue at the UN General Assembly in new York.

The idea of a club “friends of de-occupation” commented the Vice-Premier of the Crimean government Dmitry Polonsky, RIA Novosti reported. In his opinion, the initiative Poroshenko is a priori a failure.

The official said that with much more success Ukrainian leader could create “international club of anonymous alcoholics”. “To more sober look at the real situation, including the international situation,” – said Polonsky.

Earlier in September, the traditional address to the Parliament, President Poroshenko declared that “to recapture the Peninsula by force does not work” and that he himself is part of Ukraine is unlikely to return. So you need to create such conditions that the Crimea was Russia’s “unbearable burden,” he said.

Crimea became part of Russia in 2014, according to the results held on the Peninsula the referendum. Ukraine still considers this region, although the Kremlin has repeatedly stated that this matter is closed permanently.
