As reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the Ministry, from the Black sea to the Azov will promptly sent ship-dredger “Meotida” and the icebreaker “Captain Belousov”. It is noted that the decision was made on 13 September at the session of the government of Ukraine.

“There is a need to move these vessels to ensure emergency dredging”, — said Deputy Minister of infrastructure, Yuriy Lavrenyuk.

Earlier in Kiev has expressed fears that the Kerch bridge will be an obstacle for the passage of the Ukrainian ships in the Azov sea. In this regard, Petro Poroshenko proposed to dig a five-kilometer canal between the Azov and Black seas, thereby separating Crimea from the mainland. According to the author of the initiative, “this is a win-win situation from all points of view.”
