Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that no special instructions to law enforcement agencies in connection with the situation around the movie “Matilda” to give is not necessary. “As for special instructions, I do not see in it sense. The situation is absolutely clear: in order to prevent manifestations of extremism, any special instructions to give absolutely not required,” – said on Wednesday the press-Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, when they asked him whether the Kremlin to intervene in a scandalous situation around the upcoming premiere of the films by Alexei Uchitel “Matilda”.
According to “Interfax”, Peskov also said that the whole story about “Matilda” already takes rather unpleasant forms, but urged not to exaggerate what is happening, assuring that the police will suppress any manifestations of extremism.
“Manifestations of extremism, attempts of pressure on the cinema – is absolutely unacceptable, constitutes a danger. As any manifestation of extremism, this is subject to persecution by law enforcement bodies”, – he stressed.
Reporters also asked the representative of the Kremlin, if he thinks that the Deputy Natalia Poklonskaya, which has initiated action against the premiere of this piece, responsible for a number of aggressive acts activists.
“I would not be here to talk about someone’s responsibility. Discussion is one thing, extremism is another. Here can be unambiguously negative assessment, this is unacceptable,” responded Sands.
He also noted that it is undesirable to pressure extremists “have taken some decisions that limit the right of the distributors in the choice of repertoire.”
