Ukraine has expressed protest over the election in Sevastopol, called for greater sanctions

The elections in Sevastopol caused the dissatisfaction of the Ukrainian authorities continue to consider Crimea their own, but occupied territory. The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine sent to the Russian colleagues a note of protest and called on the international community to increase pressure on Russia, including through the expansion of sanctions.

“We consider such actions of the Kremlin continuation of gross violations of the Russian Federation’s state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine”, – reads the statement of Ukrainian foreign Ministry about held in Sevastopol on 10 September elections.
