The President of Azerbaijan pardoned the blogger Lapshin

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev pardoned the convicted to three years for the visit of Nagorno Karabakh the Russian blogger Alexander Lapshin.

Recall that the blame Lapshin in Azerbaijan was raised twice — in April 2011 and October 2012 — a visit to Nagorno Karabakh without permission of Azerbaijan, which considers it its territory. In addition, Lapshin accused calls for recognition of Karabakh’s independence.

The scandal around the case Lapshin was also due to the fact that he is, including being a citizen of Israel, was extradited to Baku from Belarus in February of this year. In the end, 20 July, he was sentenced to three years in a General regime colony.

At trial, Lapshin said that he considers Karabakh as a territory of Azerbaijan and visited it as a tourist.
