Pushkov responded harshly Merkel, compared the Crimea with a divided Germany

The head of the Federation Council Commission on information policy Alexei Pushkov on Sunday, September 10, bluntly responded to the statement of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who can not accept the annexation of Crimea to Russia and compared the “annexation” of the Peninsula with the division of Germany in times of the GDR and the FRG.

According to the Russian Senator, Mrs. German Chancellor, making such provocative statements, ought to begin to think about Russia’s role in the unification of Germany.

“Note to Merkel: if you were to compare with the unification of Germany is the reunification of the Crimea with Russia after a period of artificial separation,” wrote Pushkov in his microblog on Twitter.

Senator of the upper house of the Russian Parliament also added that the German Chancellor need to refresh your memory and to remember the role our country played in the fall of the Berlin wall, not to engage in false comparisons.

“Kiev is not the German people owes its unity,” concluded Pushkov.
