Foreign Ministry: Moscow’s actions are not comparable to U.S. sanctions

New us law on sanctions and the preceding action is “outrageous, endless pressure”, which is not comparable with the response to Moscow’s decision to align the membership of the diplomatic missions. This point of view was expressed by Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

He recalled that from retaliation, Russia has abstained for seven months after the US sent 35 Russian diplomats and shut down access to two diplomatic facilities. After that, the US Congress agreed on a “far-reaching sanctions law against Russia,” said Ryabkov.

Earlier, the representative of the foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova asked the U.S. Department of state, at what point should be considered a starting point of mutual claims of the parties.
