California Governor Gerald brown declined to comment on the situation with the closure of the Consulate General of Russia in San Francisco, however, he expressed hope for improved relations between Moscow and Washington in the future. He said this to journalists during the Eastern economic forum, which opened in Vladivostok.
Answering the question about the situation with the closure of the Russian Consulate General in San Francisco, brown said he did not want to comment on “any diplomatic steps” to take in the Kremlin and in the White house, reports “Interfax”.
The California Governor expressed hope for cooperation with Russia, including on the issue of climate change. “The world will function only if Russia and USA will work together, and China, Russia and USA will work together with other countries,” said brown.
According to the head of the state, for the normalization of Russian-American relations requires dialogue at different levels. “Dialogue of leaders, scientists, military, CIA and FBI all need to talk,” he said.
Brown stressed that he wants to expand the possibilities of cooperation between his region and the United States as a whole with Russia and other countries of the Pacific region.
