The anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine Avakov accuses of covering up the sale of paintings over 1.5 million

National Agency of Ukraine on corruption prevention (NACP) has accused the head of the Square the Ministry of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov in the sale of the painting by A. Popov “portrait of a girl” for 1,5 million hryvnias, thus deceiving the Ukrainian public in the Declaration, report “Ukrainian news” with reference to the decision of the NACP.

“Avakov sold the picture for 1.5 million USD and have it in the section “Income, including gifts,” not putting this information in the section “Expenses and transactions”, — reads the statement of Ukrainian anti-corruption Agency.

Thus the main Ukrainian police have violated the requirements of the law “On corruption prevention”.

Thus in fighting corruption the Ukrainian Ministry did not find evidence of illegal enrichment and conflict of interest and failed to bring Avakov to criminal and administrative responsibility. It is reported that the Ministry will provide the Minister an opportunity to re-file corrected Declaration.
