Permanent representative of Ukraine: Kiev can make its resolution on peacekeepers in the Donbass

Permanent representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Volodymyr Yelchenko on Tuesday, September 5, stated that the official Kiev, if necessary, to make its draft resolution on the introduction of the UN peacekeeping mission in the conflict zone in the Donbass, either side will work on the basis of the resolution of Russia, but with the proviso that the document will be revised taking into account the position of the authorities of Ukraine, according to “112 Ukraine”.

“We already have everything, it worked out, it is in the hands of our partners. I guess we’ll see, and within one or two days, if necessary, we will write and publish his alternative project. Another option is to operate on the basis of the Russian project, but that does not mean that there should still remain as they were written”, — said the Ukrainian diplomat.

While Yelchenko stressed that the Ukrainian authorities insist that the mandate of the UN mission needs to address not only the protection of the special monitoring mission of the Organization for security and cooperation in Europe (OSCE). In addition, Kiev insists that the peacekeepers should be placed up to the border with Russia.
