- Foreign Ministry responded to the claims of NATO because of the exercise “Zapad-2017”
The claims of NATO about the upcoming Russian-Belarusian strategic exercises “West-2017” are unfounded, said Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexei Meshkov. He noted that Russia had informed the military Alliance of the teachings and sent out invitations.
The allegations against Russia come from those countries that are trying to prevent the military contacts of Russia and the Alliance, according to Sacks.
Exercises “West-2017” will be held in Belarus from 14 to 20 September. The government of Ukraine and several NATO countries have expressed concern about this issue.
