Russia got rid of ammunition with lewisite

Completed the process of destruction of munitions filled with lewisite – poison gas nervously-paralytic action. This was reported by Colonel-General Valery Kapashin, head of the Federal Directorate for safe storage and destruction of chemical weapons.

According to him, Russia is to destroy only a small batch of munitions with poison gas type “VX” (VX).

Prior to that, Russia has got rid of several chemical warfare agents – mustard gas, sarin, and soman.
