Macron called for dialogue with Russia despite differences on Ukraine

The President of France Emmanuel macron said about the importance of dialogue with Russian authorities, despite the significant disagreements between Moscow and Paris on the Ukrainian question. His point of view was expressed in an interview with Le Point.

Macron, in particular, has recognized that in Ukraine we adhere to completely different approaches. However, the authorities came to an agreement on establishing a dialogue between the civil societies of France and Russia.

In an interview with the President of France also noted that the two States have agreed on a policy climate where stressed macron, Russia promised to support the initiatives of Paris.

Macron also stated that leading the international negotiations, trying to behave “very directly and frankly”.

“I’m trying to find the differences, points of overlap and ways in which you can move in the same direction,” he added.

Recall that France, along with Russia, Germany and Ukraine is a participant of the so-called “Normandy format” in which the parties for more than two years trying to come to an agreement on ceasefire regime in the Donbass.
