The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, explained why the Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko chanted “Akhmat — power!” on the video, which caused heated discussion in social networks. Kadyrov assured that the mayor is not a fan of the Grozny football club.
The video previously published by the speaker of the Chechen Parliament and President of football club “Ahmad” (the new name groznenskogo “Terek” – approx.) Magomed Daudov. The video caused a scandal, as it came against the backdrop of a match “Zenith” and “Ahmad” (the latter lost with the score 0:4).
Kadyrov said on his page on Instagram that “Ahmad” is a generic name social, economic, political, youth and sports movement.
As regards the slogan “Akhmat — power!” he appeared long before renaming the “Terek” and today those words “proud of the thousands of politicians and athletes around the world,” said the Chechen leader.
“Our friends from St. Petersburg want to remind you that the siege of Leningrad broke through, hundreds of residents of Chechnya. We are like a big feast celebrating the day of the siege. In Grozny there are streets of Leningrad and St. Petersburg”, – wrote the head of Chechnya.
Press Secretary of the Governor of the Northern capital Andrei Kibito said earlier that his head always ached only for “Zenith”. According to him, posted by Daudova record, which he signed “from Our friends Peter too sick for AHMAD”, no relation to the football match has not.
