In the Crimea duplicitous called the U.S. position on the status of the Peninsula

The head of the state Committee on the Affairs of interethnic relations and deported citizens of the Republic of Crimea Zaur Smirnov said that the position of the American government on the status of Crimea duplicitous and of no interest to the Crimeans.

“The U.S. position on Crimea hypocritical, as for the sake of their geopolitical interests is contrary to international law, according to which the inhabitants of the Republic to exercise their right to self-determination”, – said Smirnov.

He noted that the opinion of the US authorities to residents of the Peninsula are not interested.

Earlier, the special envoy of the US state Department in Ukraine Kurt Volker said the U.S. opposes the “freezing” of Crimea.
