Syrian Raqqa could be exempted from IG within two months

The representative of the armed coalition of “democratic Forces of Syria” (SDS), which is supported by the U.S., told Reuters that the exact date of the end of the battle for Raqqa now can not be called, but according to the calculations of SDS fights should not last more than two months.

However, she said that SDS is not going to advance on Deir-ez-Zor, which ran many of the militants of the Islamic state (banned in Russia). At the same time, she noted that “the need for liberation of Deir ez-Zor exist, we are carefully studying this possibility”.

She also noted that SDS is not going to fight with the Syrian army controlled by Assad, if the regime will not attack them.

Earlier it was reported that Syrian government troops launched an operation to unlock the Deir ez-Zor, encircled by the militants.
