The official representative the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova on Monday, August 28, in an interview with “Rain” said the Russian foreign Ministry demanded from the state Department of the United States reducing by 1 September 2017 the number of U.S. diplomats in U.S. diplomatic missions in our country. According to the Russian diplomat, it was not a requirement and request, in response to which the U.S. side made such a decision, though she had a choice.
“It wasn’t a decision, it was the suggestion of the American side. And that the American side had just taken the decision to reduce its staff. This was absolutely not the Russian demand. We suggested. They did what they did,” — said Zakharov.
