According to the American press, a reduction in the issuance of visas to Russian students can be held in the framework of the recent presidential decree, which trump promised “to hire Americans and buy American”. Changes, in particular, may relate to the procedure of issuing the visa type J-1. The U.S. President no authority to fully celebrate this visa, but it can close a number of programs it covers, or to tighten the requirements for its obtaining. In this case we are talking about popular among Russian exchange programs Au pairs and Summer work travel.

Volunteer program Au Pair in French means “to be equal”, allows people from all over the world can live abroad in a foreign family.

The Summer work travel program for young people during the summer holidays to work in various American companies. Often jobs are available in restaurants, hotels and amusement parks, for the work is paid salary about $ 8 per hour. For a full package of documents for trip to America under this program will need to pay the provider about 2.5 thousand U.S. dollars, this amount includes services for finding work and housing, tickets, documents for visa and medical insurance.

According to estimates representative of one of the Moscow organizations involved in cultural exchange programs with the United States, in the case of tightening visa requirements J-1 from the decision of the American side will suffer about 100 thousand Russians. Just as many of our citizens annually travels to America on a cultural exchange programs.

— At the moment no official information about the tightening of visa issuance or cancellation of the cultural exchange programs for Russians in the US, we have not received, — said the representative of the company. — We are now working normally and began accepting applications from those who want to go to work in America next summer. If the situation will go worst-case scenario and administration trump will block the program for the Russians, will look for workarounds. Generally, people who have traveled in the US and made friends there with some family, can try to negotiate with them and to go there by invitation. But with the summer work in the United States in the case of tightening the issuance of visas issue will be much harder to solve.
