The head of the military Department of Poland Anthony Macierewicz during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Friday, August 25, stated that the presence of forces of NATO in Polish territory is especially important before the beginning of military exercises of Russia and Belarus “West-2017”, which will be held 14-20 September on the territory of Belarus.
Polish defense Minister thanked serving in Poland’s military NATO. “This presence requires that we be free, for safety and also to potential enemies never dared to attack our homeland,” said Macierewicz.
According to him, this is especially important in light of the teachings of the “West-2017”, because “they have a very unclear structure and a very unclear concept.”
“In addition, there is the problem of Ukraine, where war is going”, – he added.
