Official representative of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova on Thursday, August 24, reacted to the desecration of a memorial plate in honor of the hero of Soviet Union intelligence agent Nikolai Kuznetsov in Lviv in Western Ukraine. According to her, independent authorities sanctioned a policy of total falsification of the history of Ukraine.
The Russian diplomat called this action a “perversion in the interests of the collaborators of Nazi invaders and their ideological followers, who, unfortunately, are today of great political weight in Ukraine.”
According to Zakharova, the Ukrainian authorities do not hear clear statements about the inadmissibility of such actions.
“We are confident that the actions undertaken by the Ukrainian authorities, Kiev regime’s attempts to erase the historical memory from the consciousness of its own people is doomed to failure,” — said the diplomat.
