Ukraine today marks the 26 th anniversary of independence of the country. In Kiev, the festivities began with a military parade, which was attended not only Ukrainian military but also NATO soldiers. From the podium they were welcomed by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the head of the Pentagon James Mattis.
Along with the 4500 Ukrainian troops on Khreshchatyk soldiers marched another 10 countries, nine of which are members of NATO. Among them, the representatives of great Britain, Latvia, Estonia, Canada and Romania.
On the podium the audience, in addition to Poroshenko, welcomed the Ministers of defense of 11 countries, among them was the Pentagon chief James Mattis.
Against the background of such support Poroshenko in the morning made a series of harsh statements against Moscow in his Twitter. In particular, he said that the Kremlin is responsible for the deaths of ten of thousands of Ukrainians and added that Russia cannot prevent the emergence of “successful Ukraine”.
