The ISS astronauts told why learning Russian language is difficult, but necessary

Americans Peggy Whitson, Jack Fisher and Randolph Breznik aboard the International space station, in a straight line with the young astronauts shared their experience of preparation for flight to the ISS. According to Winston, the study of the Russian language for her was probably the most difficult of tasks, however, the opportunity to communicate the astronauts have called one of the keys to success.

Peggy Whitson — astronaut who was in space, a record among women. According to her, the development of the Russian language was her biggest challenge, and still she continues to experience some difficulties communicating it. As a joke a member of the ISS crew, she can not find a “centre”, responsible for the development of foreign languages.

Jack Fisher, a colleague Peggy Winston and 550th Earthling in space, said that for all its complexity, the study of the Russian language is a very important aspect of training. Moreover, according to the astronaut, the participants of the expeditions to the ISS should not only understand the language but also be familiar with the culture and traditions of their Russian colleagues. All this allows much more effective to interact with the representatives of various countries among themselves. According to Fisher, this is one of the “keys to success” when working in a small international group.

In General, the astronauts assumed that each of the young astronauts harder it will be to given its aspects of training, and therefore, it should be possible to help each other. Members of the ISS crew advised the youth not to be ashamed either to ask questions or offer their own solutions.

The names of the 12 persons included in a new set of astronauts, the American space Agency, was announced in early June. This year the number of applications from potential astronauts, obtained by NASA, was an absolute record — they filed 18 353 people.

Recently Jack Fisher posted on his Twitter page a small but spectacular video where you can see the milky way. In the video you can see much more stars than usual can be seen from the surface of the Earth, especially if it is brightly lit even at night cities.
