The state Department announced that visa USA and the Russians will have about three months to wait for the call for an interview. Earlier it became known that Washington has stopped issuing nonimmigrant visas in Russia on August 23.

The updated figures for visa categories B1 (business) and class B2 (tourism) will have to wait for the interview to 85 calendar days. For applicants obtaining a student visa, the waiting period will be 36 calendar days. Information about this is available on the Department’s website.
At the same time, the waiting time of the interview for Visitor Visa at the U.S. Embassy in Kiev is 4 calendar days, in Tbilisi — 8, Beijing 4, Astana, 23, Tashkent — 43, Cairo — 23.
Due to retaliatory measures of the Russian Federation to reduce the number of employees of the us diplomatic mission from August 23 the procedure of granting non-immigrant U.S. visas for the whole of Russia will be suspended. From 1 September issuance of entry permits renewed, but only in Moscow. Under restriction were issuing visas at the consulates in Saint-Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok.
The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov said that the introduction of restrictions on the processing of us visas trying to cause discontent of citizens by the government. “This is a well-known logic is the logic of those who organize color revolutions, and it is the inertia of the Obama administration in its purest form,” said the Minister.
While Lavrov promised that Russian authorities will not “disrupt the evil on American citizens”, noting that Moscow will carefully analyze the situation, and only then decide about the response.
