Zakharova reminded US about $500 million on elections in Russia 1996

The official representative the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova on Thursday, August 17, reminded the authorities of the United States about 500 million dollars sent to Russia shortly before the presidential elections in our country in 1996.

This statement of the Russian diplomat made in response to statements by the chief of the Central intelligence Agency (CIA) Michael Pompeo that Moscow allegedly carried out by decades of illegal attempts to undermine democracy in the United States.

“Of course, it is strange that in Washington forget that on the eve of presidential elections in Russia in 1996, the Federal reserve Bank under false pretenses is a quote: “to avoid the rush of old hundred dollar bills” — imported to the U.S. Embassy in Moscow $ 500 million in cash,” — said the representative of the Russian foreign Ministry.
