As reported by Ukrainian “channel five”, a granite memorial with a height of 2.5 meters was erected at the intersection of Prospekt Lesya Kurbasa and street of the Academician the Queen, as the authorities banned the installation of the monument in the city centre.
It is noted that the monument was created by donations “volunteers” and members of ATU. It spent 120 thousand hryvnia (about 280 thousand).
Externally, the monument is a large sword with the emblem of Ukraine, plunging into the plate inscribed with a map of Russia. On the pedestal are depicted the frightening figure of an angel protector with wings painted in the colors of the Ukrainian flag (reminiscent of the Archangel Tyrael is a character of a well-known computer games).
The representative of the “veterans of the anti-terrorist operation” Eugene Yarantsev told ASN that the sculpture “symbolizes the future victory of Ukraine over the Russian invaders.” The organizers of the monument assure that wanted a way to pay tribute to fallen soldiers and to constantly remind people of Kiev about the price of peace, according to Depo.ua.
