Zakharova said the reason for the absence in Russia of the fourth General of the USA

The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told reporters that the US government many years ago offered to open a fourth Consulate General in the territory of Russia, but they did not. Therefore, according to the Agency, formed an “imbalance”, which the Americans say.

Zakharova in the program “Sunday evening” on TV channel “Russia 1” has commented on the rumors about the possible closure of one of the Russian consulates in the United States.

“Now if you will tell what for many years was broken parity, and now is the time to raze it to stop the hostile actions of the Russian Federation — it’s a total bluff”, — quoted Zakharova, RIA Novosti.

The representative of the Russian foreign Ministry said that such reasoning is designed for those who do not know the subject matter. Zakharov explained that after the collapse of the USSR one of the us Consulate General was on the territory of Ukraine, and on Russia’s proposal to restore parity and open another U.S. diplomatic mission refused. “All questions to them. Therefore, speculation on this topic, too, will not pass,” — concluded Zakharov.

Note that Russia in the United States four General consulates (in new York, San Francisco, Seattle and Houston), and the US in Russia only three (Saint-Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok).
