The North Korean authorities summoned its key ambassadors to Pyongyang on a special meeting to be held on the background of increasing international pressure on the country. Recently, the UN security Council adopted a new package of sanctions against the DPRK, which became a response to the increasing North Korean nuclear capability.
The North Korean authorities summoned their ambassadors in the largest States in Pyongyang. This is probably done “for the meeting of the diplomatic staff”, said the Agency Yonhap a government source in South Korea.
It is noted that this meeting may be part of the regular collection of ambassadors from North Korea, which has repeatedly carried out. The current meeting was attended by the North Korean Ambassador to China Lee Jae Ryong, Ambassador to Russia Kim Hyun Joon, as well as permanent representative of the state at the UN Cha Sleep Us.
Pyongyang fears the threat from the US and is working on creating Intercontinental ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads. However, by doing so North Korea is violating the nuclear non-proliferation, bringing on new sanctions from the UN Security Council.
The latest package of restrictions adopted by Council on 5 August, suggests tough measures, including a ban on the procurement from the DPRK, seafood, iron ore and coal.
