The UN said there was evidence of war crimes Assad

Member of the Commission of the United Nations to investigate crimes in the Syrian Arab Republic, Carla del Ponte, on Sunday, August 13, said that the international organization received enough evidence to accuse the dictatorial regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in war crimes, and judge him according to the laws of the international military Tribunal, according to Le Matin Dimanche.

“Yes, I am convinced that this is so. That’s why I was so upset by this situation. Was done preparatory work. Despite this, neither the Prosecutor, nor the court,” said del Ponte in response to the question about the existence of evidence of the crimes of the Assad regime.

According to the representative of the United Nations, this is due to the fact that the Russian veto in the UN security Council, thus blocking the establishment of an international Tribunal for crimes in Syria.

Del Ponte called the tense situation in the zone of the armed conflict in Syria a “tragedy without a future”.

“I’ve never seen such a brutal conflict… the Children are the main victims of this conflict,” she said.
