The Kurds refused to move the date of the referendum on independence in defiance of U.S. call

A senior representative of the Kurdish Hoshyar Zebari on Saturday, August 12, stated that the government of Iraqi Kurdistan will not have to postpone a referendum on independence for the region, leaving the date unchanged – 25 September 2017, despite the appeal of the head of the state Department of the United States Rex Tillerson to postpone the vote, according to Reuters.
