Obstetrician-gynecologist Alexander Volchek, working in one of the maternity hospitals of Novosibirsk, implanted under the skin chips, performing the role of intercom keys, business cards and so on. According to Volchek, a small implantable chips are used in veterinary medicine since the mid 2000-ies, and today in the United States and China, these devices are quite extensively developed for people. Chips implanted a physician, consist of a ferrite core with a coil and a very small chip. The average size of this kind of devices is 2 to 12 millimeters and the minimum is 1.5 to 8 millimeters. Under the skin they entered a large syringe with a thick needle.
Russian uses some of the chips as door keys, which can be applied to the electronic lock and go through the access control system at his place of work and in one of the visited resorts. According to the Russians, in the future, implanted chips will be able to perform the function of inalienable implanted crypto-stick, that is used for electronic signature and payment at contactless terminals. An even more important step would be the creation of implantable glucose meter for measuring blood sugar level and other developments that allow to use the chips for medical purposes, said Volchek.
