Czech Republic resumes sale of lethal weapons to Ukraine


Czech Ambassador in Ukraine, Radek Matula said the negotiations between the Czech defence manufacturers with Ukrainian partners. As of winter 2014, Prague has banned the supply of Ukrainian military equipment and materials, but for now Kiev has opened a “window of opportunity”.

From now on, for each specific case of sale of a shipment of weapons entered the standard procedure of issuing licenses.

Fundamental change in the approaches of the Czech Republic to the situation in the Donbas is due to held in late may visit of the Minister of defence of the Czech Republic Martin Stropnicky, his meeting with the Czech experts from the NATO liaison Office in Ukraine and the talks with his Ukrainian counterpart, army General Stepan Poltorak.
