The Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski commented on the upcoming Russian-Belarusian military exercises “Zapad-2017” which will take place from 14 to 20 September on the territory of Belarus.
“The Polish authorities will pay attention to these teachings that cause us great concern, because the scenario of the last two exercises is a little scary for Poland. Part of the scenario includes military and nuclear attack on Poland, in Warsaw. We are ready to follow these teachings, but we will not take any extraordinary measures… I Believe that in these doctrines there is no need, because we have NATO there is absolutely no aggressive intentions towards Russia. All of our doctrine is defensive. Look at the placement of our troops, their training activities – all this is defensive in nature, and NATO has no aggressive doctrine involving assault, intimidation, threat to Russia,” he said.
