One of the highest military awards — order of Zhukov – received 39-th separate railway brigade, which participated in the construction of the railway bypassing Ukraine. The award was presented by the Minister of defense of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu, who arrived in Voronezh oblast. The connection was involved in the construction of zhuravka — Millerovo passing through the territories of Voronezh and Rostov regions.

At the solemn ceremony of awarding the Minister said that the military connection has always demonstrated high professionalism and responsible attitude to the assigned work. Has successfully solved the problem of the state importance. “Undoubtedly, in the glorious annals of the teams will enter construction in the shortest possible time a railway section zhuravka – Millerovo. It is of great importance to ensure the intensity and safety of transportation in the southern direction of the country”, – said Shoigu.
On the plot allocated to the Ministry of defence, in total there were more than 1,700 military personnel, involved more than 700 units of special equipment. On this stretch of railway the construction of seven train stations, go commissioning.
According to the head of the military Department, the brigade, which was formed shortly after the great Patriotic war, participated in the restoration of transport arteries of the country, the construction of the largest strategically important rail lines.
In the record of connections – construction of the Baikal-Amur railway, the construction of access roads to the ports of Novorossiysk and Temryuk, the restoration of Railways in Chechnya and Abkhazia, liquidation of consequences of flooding in Krymsk, construction of infrastructure for the Ministry of defense in Crimea.
The Minister congratulated the staff of the brigade with the order of Zhukov and the professional holiday – Day of Railway troops, celebrated on 6 August.
As follows from the order, the brigade was awarded the highest state awards for merits in ensuring the state security, high performance in combat training, courage, bravery and selflessness shown by personnel in the course of performing combat training missions.
