Died former head of the FSB Academy Valentin Vlasov

An irreparable loss on Friday, August 4, suffered by the Federal security service of Russia — has left the life of a former head of the Academy of the Federal security service of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Valentin Vlasov.

Valentin Vlasov was born in 1947 in Moscow. In 1971 graduated from the Moscow energy Institute, and later the KGB Higher school (the Academy of the FSB of Russia).

Since 1981 began to serve in the organs of state security of the USSR. He served as first Deputy chief of management of FSB across Moscow and Moscow region. In July-August 2000 he was appointed head of the Department.

Valentin Vlasov participated in operations to combat illicit trafficking of arms, drugs and implementation of operational staff in bands headed the Department for combating terrorism. Since 2000, for seven years he was the chief of Academy of FSB of Russia. Awarded the medal of Honor, “Honorary employee of counterintelligence.
