The Briton was sentenced for having fought in the Donbass

In Manchester, the court sentenced 41-year-old Benjamin Stimson to a prison term for participation in the fighting in Eastern Ukraine, finding him guilty of terrorist activities. As reports “Bi-bi-si”, Stimson was given eight years imprisonment, but the plea deducted a third of the time. Thus, the British will have to spend behind bars for five years and four months.

Stimson had served in the militia of the breakaway republics of Donbass. On Ukraine, he moved, since he saw no prospects at home, at the time after sitting without work for a year and a half. It its understood and the ideological component of the conflict in the Donbass, considering what is happening there “Western imperialist aggression against Russia.”

Stimson’s father called the sentence too harsh. He regrets that Benjamin went to Donbass. “We didn’t know about it. We thought he was working on the farm,” said the man.
