Sex, even without pleasure, slows down aging women, said scientists


Women who have sex at least once a week, are aging more slowly than others. Anyway, so say experts from the University of California, San Francisco. In this case, not the pleasure derived from sex — according to the researchers, a similar effect was observed among women, enjoyment of intimate contacts are not receiving.

In the study conducted by experts, attended by 129 women, each of which was a mother and was in a long term relationship. Specialists, in particular, found out which women were the length of telomeres — the end parts of chromosomes, shrinking with each cell division. When telomeres are too short the cell can no longer divide, and it is, as is commonly believed today, plays a key role in such a process as aging.

According to scientists, they found out that the fair sex engaged in sex once a week or more telomeres were long for his age. According to the authors of new papers, this suggests that regularly having sex with women less than age. Experts also point out that their findings did not depend on the stress level of the participants or to what extent they are satisfied with their partner and relationship. A simple answer to the question how can we explain the interrelation, researchers are not yet ready.

Scientists say that they do not set ourselves the task to find out how regular sex affects the life expectancy of men.

Experts remind that earlier there have been some other factors affecting telomere length — in particular, alcohol abuse leads to more rapid reduction, and physical activity, on the contrary, helps to slow down aging.
