Coalition forces will remain in Iraq after the defeat of the IG

The commander of the coalition’s operation against ISIS (banned in Russia) is an American Lieutenant General Stephen Townsend said that after the completion of the “Unwavering commitment” coalition forces will remain in Iraq.

However, as transfers TASS, the General added that the number of troops will be much less and they will mostly deal with the preparation and training of the Iraqi military.

“What will happen after the victory over the IG does not depend on the presence of coalition troops, and will be able to achieve national reconciliation in Iraq,” he added.
