Novak outlined the timing of the launch of the first unit of TPP in the Crimea

The first blocks of thermal power plants in Crimea will start to work in the first quarter of 2018. On Tuesday, 11 July, said Minister of energy of Russia Alexander Novak. He stressed that the scandal because of the turbines, Siemens will not affect the launch date.

“The project will be in any case implemented, as we need the construction of generation,” said the Minister, adding that “companies are implementing those technical solutions that were adopted”, reports TASS.

A few days ago, the media reported that the turbines of Siemens for power plant construction in Sevastopol was delivered to the Crimea to bypass sanctions of the European Union.

In turn, the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov later stated that the turbines were produced domestically.

The construction of two thermal power plants for 470 megawatts in Crimea is carried out under the program “Socially-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and city of Sevastopol until 2020”. The amount of investment is estimated at 49 billion rubles.
