Harvard astronomer has recommended for purchase of real estate a distant planet

Buying real estate on the planet Proxima b in the alpha Centauri system may eventually prove to be a great investment. About it half-jokingly said the head of the Department of astronomy, Harvard University (USA) Abraham Loeb. According to the scientist, with this Council, he appealed to all the wealthy friends.

As explained by astrophysicist, Proxima b can become the refuge of humanity in a time when the Solar system will become uninhabitable due to natural processes occurring in the depths of the lights, reports lenta.ru. However, it is worth noting that fear is in the next hundreds of millions of years, mankind isn’t supposed to be.

The star Proxima Centauri and the planet in its orbit are practically “in the neighborhood” of the Solar system in scale space — the distance is only about four light-years. Proxima b is the nearest earth-like exoplanet known.

About the discovery of Proxima b orbiting a red dwarf Proxima Centauri, it was announced on 24 August 2016, and some experts are inclined to consider the discovery one of the main scientific achievements, which last year was noted. Scientists continue to argue whether, at least theoretically, this planet to be inhabited. On the one hand, it is in the so-called habitable zone of its star (that is, not the distance from the sun that the temperature on the surface for the origin of life should be suitable), the other — red dwarf Proxima Centauri may be the source of too intense flares and stellar wind in order to near it could survive any organisms.

Previously, Abraham Loeb suggested that to know the nature of fast radio pulses, which are sometimes called the “alien signals” that could help smart phones. How, then, is a noted scholar, a phone and Wi-Fi routers operate on the same wavelengths, where the fast radio bursts was able to fix, that is, if you program these gadgets in a special way, theoretically, they will be able to pick up the signals, allowing us to understand how it spreads and, as a consequence, where it can be its source.
