Matviyenko: Russia has refused to pay the Council of Europe due to the degradation of the situation

The speaker of the Federation Council of Russia Valentina Matviyenko supported the decision of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of our country, saying that the Russian foreign Ministry made absolutely the right decision, refusing to pay a fee to the Treasury of the Council of Europe for 2017.

According to the head of the upper house of the Russian Parliament, the decision of the Russian foreign Ministry is a sure signal for the Council of Europe that the situation continues to deteriorate.

“I think that the Ministry of foreign Affairs made absolutely the right decision. It was a signal to the Council of Europe and not only of the PACE (parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe), the situation continues to deteriorate,” — said Matvienko.
