Defense Ministry: the British aircraft carrier – just a large marine target

In the Russian defense Ministry responded to the statements by the head of the British war Minister Michael Fallon, who in an interview with the press earlier suggested that the aircraft carrier “Queen Elizabeth” is superior to the aircraft-carrying cruiser “Admiral Kuznetsov”.

Official representative of the Ministry of defense of Russia Igor Konashenkov commented on the criticism which the British defense Ministry statements. The words of the British Minister Michael Fallon about the alleged superiority of the aircraft carrier “Queen Elizabeth” on aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov” indicate a lack of competence of the Minister in this matter, said Konashenkov.

“Exalted statement of the head of the British military authorities Fallon about the superiority of the external beauty of a new carrier on the Russian aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov” show blatant ignorance of naval science”, – reads the statement of the representative of the Russian defense Ministry, which on Thursday morning, the group has extended interaction with the media.

Days earlier, in an interview with The Telegraph, Fallon said that Russia will have to look with envy on the new British aircraft carrier “Queen Elizabeth”, which became the largest ship of the Royal Navy in its entire history. Held in October last year in channel Russian aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov” had received the characteristic Fallon “old and worn”.

Commenting on the words of Fallon, Igor Konashenkov noted that between the ships there is a fundamental difference which is the head of the UK Ministry of defence.
