The head of the Balashikha resigned after Putin’s intervention in the waste scandal


The head of Balashikha near Moscow Eugene Zhirkov wrote a letter of resignation. It happened shortly after the President of Russia Vladimir Putin drew attention to the dump, which for many years has poisoned the life of the residents of the suburbs.

“On June 27, the head of city district Balashikha Eugene Zhirkov has written the application for addition of powers at own will”, – informs “Interfax” with reference to the press service of the Governor and the government of the Moscow region.

It is noted that the acting city appointed the first Deputy head of administration of city district Balashikha Lily Tatevosyan.
